Arizona Day Trip Adventure: Devil's Bridge in Sedona

No matter where you live in the state, Sedona makes for a perfect weekend getaway or even a day trip. While Sedona has so much to offer and there are many places to explore, we thought we'd give a focus on Devil's Bridge, a beautiful hike that leads you up to the largest natural stone arch in the Sedona area.

We ventured this hike on a cloudy November day as first-timers. I'd seen a lot of pictures so I knew the end result but wasn't quite sure how it would be to get there. The majority of the hike itself is pretty simple, but once you get close to getting to the actual "bridge" part of it, it can be challenging for some. It gets steep, and as you can see from this picture, has a pretty large dropoff. But the views can't be beat. It's definitely an adventure to add to your Sedona bucket list. It can be pretty crowded at times, so keep that in mind if you're looking for tranquil Sedona adventures.

Depending on where you park and the kind of vehicle you have (the unpaved road is only for off-road ready vehicles), the roundtrip can range from 2 to 6 miles. We parked probably as far away as you could park (rookies!) so when we were done we drove straight to Oak Creek Brewery for lunch and a cold one. Best idea! I had a seasonal (I think it was Vanilla Mandarin) and we had a table full of appetizers and burgers and it was a delicious, well earned meal.

If you have a day or two in Sedona, I definitely recommended setting aside a few hours for these breathtaking views. You will not be disappointed!

Here is some more detailed information from the USDA website: Devil's Bridge

Welcome to Curate Arizona

We're so glad you stopped by!

WHO WE ARE: Arizona residents that search high and low for the best of Arizona.

WHAT WE DO: We value Arizona businesses and treasure keeping our business local. This means going to your Farmers Market and buying Arizona grown vegetables, or hitting up the new Arizona grown brewery, or buying gifts from the local boutique. All of these things promise you unique experiences and products that you won't be able to find anywhere else. They also help our local economy.

WHERE WE GO: While we currently live in Phoenix, we love all of Arizona. There are gems to be found throughout our state from Tucson to Flagstaff and everywhere in between. We still have so much of the state to explore and bring to you, but in the meantime we'd love any guest editors that live in either the surrounding Phoenix cities or throughout Arizona. Drop us an email if this is something you are interested in doing.

WHY: While we have full time jobs, we also have experienced the handmade / side hustle side of things. Erica runs salt + peak which sells handmade soy candles and previously ran a design shop. It was through running these businesses and selling at local craft show that we understood how much love and thought goes into non-mass produced items and places.

WHAT NEXT: Let's get the word out on why your business is representative of the best of Arizona! We offer social media features and/or blog posts. You can even offer promotions or giveaways to entice the audience even more. Show us what you got and let's grow together. Visit www.curatearizona.com and click "apply now". The month of February we are giving free features (after all it's the month of love!).

Thanks for helping Arizona be awesome and keep our business local!

Cheers!

Erica + the Curate Arizona team
